1.1 Purchase of products
When you order a Product from our website you are offering to buy it at the price stated, subject to these terms. We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information were entered onto the system.
We reserve the right to refuse an order. Non-acceptance of an order may, for example, result from one of the following:
The product ordered being unavailable from stock
Our inability to obtain authorisation of payment
The identification of an error within the product information, including price or promotion
Any pending orders that are not paid for within 14 days of placement will automatically be deleted from our system and will have to be placed again should you wish to proceed with the purchase.
Prices displayed on the Site are shown in South African Rand (ZAR). Prices are subject to change at any time. Deliveries will be charged in addition to the price of the products. For very precious items, we may ask you to pay an extra fee, to cover the specific shipping cost.

1.3 Order acceptance and cancellation
Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept, decline, or limit your order for any reason, whether or not your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has been charged and your order is cancelled, you will receive a refund.
Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled unless the shipment is unavoidably delayed. In this case, we will do our best to cancel the order if requested.
2.1 Payment options
Payment may be made via Credit cards (Visa or MasterCard), PayFast or by EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) into the Provider’s bank account, the details of which will be provided as soon as an order is finalised.
Upon receiving your Order we carry out a standard pre-authorisation check on your payment card to ensure there are sufficient funds to fulfill the transaction. Orders will not be manufactured and Goods will not be dispatched until this pre-authorisation check has been completed. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to, or does not authorise payment for any reason, then you will be notified of this immediately prior to completing your purchase using the Site at the check-out stage. Your card will be debited once the order has been accepted.
We are not able to look for payments on our bank statement – therefore we require you to email us your proof of payment.
Orders will remain on hold until we receive an emailed proof of payment (we cannot be held liable for any delays in orders being completed if proof of payment is not sent).
We do not accept lay buys.
Updating of these Terms and Conditions
Provider reserves the right to change, modify, add to or remove from portions or the whole of these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes to these Terms and Conditions will become effective upon such changes being posted to this Website. It is the User’s obligation to periodically check these Terms and Conditions at the Website for changes or updates. The User’s continued use of this Website following the posting of changes or updates will be considered notice of the User’s acceptance to abide by and be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including such changes or updates.
2.2. Customs duties on international purchases
You may also be liable for any customs and import duties, quotas, permits, product restrictions and other local requirements. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. Customs policies vary widely from state to state and country to country. Therefore we suggest that you check the requirements in your country before placing an order. We will not be liable for any customs or import duties.
CHANGES IN PRODUCTS & PRICING
We are constantly updating and revising our offerings of products, and we may discontinue products at any time without notice. All pricing for our products is subject to change. For all of our prices and products, we reserve the right to make adjustments due to changing market conditions, currency fluctuations, product discontinuation, manufacturer price changes, errors in advertisements, and other extenuating circumstances.
All TDV pieces are locally handmade; we use quality materials and take care in our manufacturing. Please allow for slight variations in shapes and sizes. We do try our best to be accurate. Please note that each gemstone is unique.
All jewellery is made from sterling silver, gold plated sterling silver, 9ct & 18ct Gold and Platinum. Sterling silver in SA is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Metals naturally develop a surface patina over time, caused by oxygen, perfumes and skin acidity. Some people also have more acidic skin than others, and therefore the oxidation can occur at a more rapid pace. Silver jewellery will also develop a patina if it is not worn regularly.
Plating is not permanent, as it is a thin layer of metal coating the sterling silver. It does wear off over time, depending on how often the piece is worn and can be affected by chemicals such as chlorine, detergents and general day to day wear. Plating can also be affected by skin acidity – shortening the life span of the coating. The piece will then go back to looking silver and can be re-plated anytime.
All stones used by TDV Jewellery are ethically sourced. As our stones are naturally formed and hand cut there can be slight variations with colour and shape, making each stone unique.
Stones will therefore vary slightly from the images used on product pages.
ADVERTISING, PRIVACY & COPYRIGHT
We take photographs of all pieces that are manufactured and sent out. We reserve the right to use these in advertisements on our Pages, as well as sending them to the media.
Further to this, photographs serve to document the state in which the items leave our studio and what size we made them – especially when the items are rings.
We attempt to be as accurate as possible with Product descriptions and prices. However, we do not warrant that Product descriptions or prices are accurate. In the event that a Product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or error in pricing or Product information received from our suppliers and brands, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for Products listed at the incorrect price. We shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, we shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in accordance with our Return Policy, as set forth below.
The use of any product bought from this Website is at the purchaser’s risk. The purchaser/ user indemnifies and holds the Provider harmless against any loss, injury or damages which may be sustained as a result of using the products sold on the Website.
The private information required for executing the orders placed through the e-commerce facility, namely the User’s personal information and credit card details, delivery address and telephone numbers will be kept in the strictest confidence by the Provider and not sold or made known to third parties. Only the necessary information, that is the delivery address and contact phone number will be made known to third parties delivering the product.
The Provider undertakes that it has taken all reasonable precautions to secure the credit card processing that is carried out to receive payment for goods sold. The Provider cannot be held responsible for security breaches occurring on the User’s electronic device (Personal Computer or other electronic device used to browse the Website), which may result due to the lack of adequate virus protection software or spyware that the User may inadvertently have installed on his/her device.
Provider provides certain information at the Website. Content currently or anticipated to be displayed at this Website is provided by Provider, its affiliates and/or subsidiary, or any other third party owners of such content, and includes but is not limited to Literary Works, Musical Works, Artistic Works, Sound Recordings, Cinematograph Films, Sound and Television Broadcasts, Program-Carrying Signals, Published Editions and Computer Programs (“the Content”). All such proprietary works, and the compilation of the proprietary works, are copyright the Provider, its affiliates or subsidiary, or any other third party owner of such rights (“the Owners”), and is protected by South African and international copyright laws. The Providers reserve the right to make any changes to the Website, the Content, or to products and/or services offered through the Website at any times and without notice. E-mail addresses, names, telephone numbers and fax numbers on the Website may not be incorporated into any database used for electronic marketing or similar purposes.
All rights in and to the Content is reserved and retained by the Owners. Except as specified in these Terms and Conditions, the User is not granted a license or any other right including without limitation under Copyright, Trademark, Patent or other Intellectual Property Rights in or to the Content.
Limited License to General Users
Provider grants to the User, subject to the further terms of these Terms and Conditions, a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited and revocable right to access, display, use, download and otherwise copy the current and future Content for personal, non-commercial and information purposes only.
This Website and the Content may not be reproduced, duplicated, copied, resold, visited or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose without the express prior written consent of Provider. The license does not allow the User to collect product or service listings, descriptions or other information displayed here, and does not allow any derivative use of this Website or the Content for the benefit of another merchant. The User may not frame nor use framing technologies to enclose the Provider Website or the Content nor any part thereof without the express written consent of Provider. Provider and the Owners do not offer products or services to minors. If you are under the age of 18, you may not respond to or otherwise accept or act upon any offers in the Website.
Provider and the Owners, their affiliates or subsidiary reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders in their sole discretion. Any unauthorised use terminates this license.
Limitation of Liability
The Website and all Content on the Website, including any current or future offer of products or services, are provided on an “as is” basis, and may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. The Owners make no warranty or representation as to the availability, accuracy or completeness of the Content.
Neither Provider nor any holding company, affiliate or subsidiary of Provider, shall be held responsible for any direct or indirect special, consequential or other damage of any kind whatsoever suffered or incurred, related to the use of, or the inability to access or use the Content or the Website or any functionality thereof, or of any linked website, even if Provider is expressly advised thereof. Provider cannot guarantee that use of the Website will always be uninterrupted or that it is free from becoming infected by viruses due to factors beyond our control. Access to the Website may sometimes be restricted due to repairs or maintenance of the Website. Provider cannot assume any responsibility for lack of functionality that is dependent on the User’s browser or other third party software.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may return the item by contacting us within 10 working days of purchase. The item should be packaged carefully and returned in its original condition and sent within 10 working days to our postal address below:

TDV does not do refunds for returned goods, we can however credit the User with store credit. The purchase price is the amount you paid for the product and does not include any delivery costs.
TDV reserves the right to charge a 10% administration fee on refunds for unsuitable items.
ALL PRODUCTS ARE RETURNABLE, EXCLUDING:
– Special orders
– Custom-made jewellery
– Any products bought on sale
– Products being returned must be unused, unworn, undamaged and properly protected.
– We don’t accept any returns after the 2 week grace period.
– You will need to pay for postage when returning the item.
– We recommend using registered mail, as we are not liable for any items lost in the post. Or you can contact us to arrange collection with our couriers at R95 one way.
Unfortunately TDV will not take responsibility for broken chains. Chains, by nature, are extremely delicate and need to be handled with great care by the wearer. The replacement fee for chains are R150 for sterling silver and R1200+ for gold, depending on length.
Cancellation of Orders
Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled unless the shipment is unavoidably delayed. In this case, we will do our best to cancel the order if requested.
The Provider reserves the right to cancel an order for which payment has already been received. This may occur if stock is insufficient or the quality of goods ordered does not meet the Provider’s standards. Should the Provider exercise this right, the User will receive a full refund with no deductions.
Any complaints regarding the standard and quality of the product or products bought by consumers through the e-commerce facility should be directed to [email protected].
TDV Jewellery only ships orders between Monday and Friday, during shop hours, and does not operate on public holidays. We aim to process your order within 72 hours of it being placed. All pieces are hand manufactured and are made to order. Please allow for 2-3 weeks for manufacturing, from date of receipt of payment. Orders to be fast tracked can be arranged with the manufacturer and might be subject to an additional fee. Certain pieces might take longer to manufacture for example where stones need to be sourced.
Once an order has been registered, payment accepted and order shipped, it is in the courier service. We are not liable for any errors made by these services.
Once you have received your parcel, please open it with care. TDV Jewellery is not liable for any items damaged during the opening of your parcel. Any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times are subject to any delays resulting from postal delays or force majeure for which we will not be responsible.
We only ship to a physical address provided. Unfortunately, we cannot ship to P.O Boxes and Postnet Suites. We cannot be held responsible for an incorrect address being entered while ordering on our website. If you complete your order and then notice that the address details are incorrect, please contact us immediately: [email protected].
We will supply all goods to the delivery company in good order. You may request for us to take a picture which will be taken with your invoice, of your items before they are sealed in their final packaging, but cannot ensure that the goods arrive at your chosen delivery address in the same good order and thus do not take responsibility for damage to items during transit.
Tracking numbers will be emailed to our customers once we have handed your package over for delivery.
Please allow 2 to 5 working days for shipping once the the manufacturing process has been completed and has been handed over to the courier. Once the package leaves our premises with the third party (courier), we will not be held liable for the delivery of your package.
Our courier delivers throughout South Africa at a cost of R95 per parcel. However, if your order is over R2500, we’ll ship it to you for free. TDV will not be held responsible to any loss or theft of items once it has been handed over to the delivery company.
If you prefer to collect completed pieces at the shop, it may be collected, during normal shop hours. Please indicate collection method on checkout, or arrange with the shop before collection. Refer to the shop hours on our contact page.
